How to Send Your Valheim Log

When something goes wrong in Ragnavik, your Valheim log usually contains the details needed to find the cause. Please send the log from the same game session in which the problem happened.

Before collecting the log

  1. Reproduce the problem once if it is safe to do so.
  2. Note the approximate time and what you were doing in game.
  3. Close Valheim normally. This allows the game to finish writing the log.

Starting Valheim again replaces the most useful log, so collect it before your next launch.

Find LogOutput.log

  1. Open Gale and select the Ragnavik profile you used when the problem happened.
  2. Open that profile's folder.
  3. Open the BepInEx folder.
  4. Find LogOutput.log.

If you need to browse there manually on Windows, enter this in File Explorer:

%APPDATA%\com.kesomannen.gale\valheim\profiles

Open the profile you used, then open BepInEx and find LogOutput.log.

Send the report

In the Ragnavik Discord, open #help-and-support and attach the log file. Do not paste thousands of log lines into the message. If Discord says the file is too large, place LogOutput.log in a ZIP file and attach the ZIP instead.

Rename the attachment using this pattern so reports stay easy to identify:

discord-name_YYYY-MM-DD_short-issue.log

For example: river_2026-09-23_portal-crash.log

Include these details with the attachment:

  • What happened
  • What you expected to happen
  • The approximate time it happened
  • What you were doing immediately before it happened
  • Whether it happens every time or only sometimes
  • A screenshot of the error, if one appeared

You can use /ragnavik logs in Discord at any time to get a link back to this guide.

Protect private information

Send the complete file only in the Ragnavik support channel requested by an administrator. Logs can contain player identifiers, computer paths, and connection details. Do not post them on a public website or in an unrelated community.

Please do not edit the file before sending it. The lines that look unrelated may be what connects your report to the cause.
